Gabor was born in Budapest Hungary in 1970 & began his culinary career growing up working in the kitchen of the Cosy Hungarian.  The restaurant opened in 1982 & he learned to cook with his father & helped managing the front of house duties with his mother.

Gabor decided to expand his knowledge in the culinary arts at George Brown College which began his career as a chef. He worked 8 years in the hotel and restaurant industry in the G.T.A. before coming back to take over the Cosy Hungarian upon his fathers retirement. It was a way of getting back to his roots & keeping alive the family business.

Gabor is best known for his goulash soup and cabbage rolls. Incorporating elements picked up in his years in the industry using his progressive techniques to keep his traditional Hungarian cuisine alive & new. He is a chef with great pride in his work , & well known to his customers & his community. This little jewel of a restaurant is easily located west of Midland Ave. on Kingston Road in Scarborough .
